"Create a Folk Art Painting in One Day"

Come to Ye Old Tavern in West Brookfield, MA and take a full day painting class with Johanne Cassia. Create "Country Spring" the painting you see in the header of our newsletter. This colorful piece has the been antiqued, to resemble the primitive quality of an early mural. If you've never picked up a brush or if you are just an adventurous artist, this is the class for you. This full day painting class began with an invitation from Doreen Piechota to come to paint in West Brookfield, MA. Doreen is the owner of Ye Country Mercantile, a fabulous primitives and wool shop in West Brookfield, MA. Doreen made all the arrangements for what promises to be a fun painting retreat: 

Ye Country Mercantile announces one day "Folk Art Painting Class" given by Johanne Cassia, an award winning Folk artist and Muralist who lives in New England. View some of her work at johannecassia.com.

This full day Class to be held April 6, 2013, 10-4 in the "Washington Room" at the Ye Old Tavern, 7 East Main Street, West Brookfield, MA. 
Class fee is $195.00 per person, which includes individual guided instruction, all class materials, morning coffee with homemade pastry and a wonderful buffet lunch in the tavern dining room. MC/Visa, cash or check must be paid in full by April 1 to reserve your seat. There are 12 seats available. Call 508-867-2120 to join the class.

Johanne will guide you every step of the way and you will learn techniques that will help you create this primitive masterpiece called "Country Spring" on a 16" x 20" wood panel. Whether you are a beginner or an adventurous artist, join in the fun and create a painting for your home. Doreens's husband will have "framing trim" for us.

When the class is finished, you will be invited back to Ye Country Mercantile, right next door to the tavern, for a "Private Shopping" experience where you will receive 25% off your purchases on all merchandise except antiques, which you will receive 10% off.

If you are do not live close to this class, there are plenty of places in the area to stay. After we shop, we plan to spend the evening at the "Fireside Feast" at Salem Cross Inn which is only a mile from away. We invite all to make your own reservations and join us for this fabulous meal. If you decide to stay overnight, there is great shopping and eateries in West Brookfield and Sturbridge area.
